I’m so excited to share the finished product of our kitchen remodel! It is a labor of love, that is for sure! Lots and Lots of paint was used. Now, I should forwarn you, this is not one of those remodels where all the walls get knocked down and you start over. This is a budget-friendly kitchen remodel, where we worked with what we had.
To give you some back story, when we first moved into the lake house, I knew the kitchen remodel was one of the first things I wanted to tackle. Like many families, we spend a lot of time in the kitchen area. I love to cook and bake! Our long-term plans are to completely gut the kitchen but that was not in the budget when we first moved in. So, lots of paint was in order. Here is what the kitchen looked like before the face-lift.
First, up in the kitchen remodel, I painted the kitchen countertops with a faux Carrera marble finish. You can go back and see how I painted the countertops in this post. It took me some time to figure out how to achieve the look; but once I got it, it was super easy.
After painting the countertops, we tackled painting the cabinets. You can read more about that here. Then the subway tile backsplash was added throughout the kitchen. Lastly, we got new appliances which made a huge difference!
After Kitchen Remodel
Without further ado, here is what our kitchen looks like now!
Below is the view from the dining room. Through the door on the other side of the kitchen, you can see our entryway.
From this view, you can see into the dining room. The table that Mat made for our last house fit perfectly in this house too!
Ahhhh! I just love how the backsplash turned out!! Getting that done really finished off the space.
WOW! It fills good to be able to write a post on a fully completed room! It has been a long time coming. The other thing that will change in this room soon is the addition of recessed lighting, which is getting added to the entire house.
What do you think of the before and after? Big change?!
